Planned Housing Projects

At the current rate, all large open lots of land in Tarpon Springs will be fully developed in the next two – three years.  Some of the new housing projects include:

Anclote Harbor

  • Four Story Apartment Buildings with 405 units.
  • Located on the corner of U.S. Highway 19N and the Anclote River on the 70+ acre undeveloped property owned by Wal-Mart.
  • Requires removal of 1,000 plus trees, 30+ Gopher tortoises.
  • Requires special permits in order to violate Bald Eagles protection act in order to build directly up to the two eagles nests.
  • Major traffic impact as FDOT estimates additional 4,000 car trips per day added to U.S. Highway 19N.  Residents wanting to head south on 19 will need to cut across four lanes of traffic and u-turn at the red-light by B-21 / Beckett Way.
